Everest Base Camp Trek By Road
One of the greatest ways to experience Mount Everest and the surrounding Himalayan scenery is with an Everest Base Camp Trek by Road. This is a different, safe way to go to Mt. Everest Base Camp since the standard flight from Lukla can be canceled owing to unpredictably bad weather at such a high altitude and could be delayed for a few hours to days. The journey itself is incredible, taking you through the beautiful valley of the lower Himalayas, where you'll have plenty of opportunities to interact with the locals and learn about their cuisine, customs, and way of life. Using a vehicle to get to the world's most beautiful area is yet another highlight of the trip.
You are welcomed at the international airport by a representative of Alpha Adventure. It takes 20 minutes to drive the 7 kilometers from your hotel to the airport. Enter the room, then take a nap. Stay with your guide during the briefing. As a final step in trip preparation, have your guide examine your hiking gear. In the event that any trekking equipment needs to be purchased, it is possible to do so in Kathmandu.
Day 02: Drive from Kathmandu to Salleri | Altitude: 2326 M | Drive: 8-9 Hrs
The Guide and Porter will arrive at your hotel early in the morning around 5 AM in a cab and drive to the Jeep station at Chabahil or Koteshwor as instructed, in accordance with the previous meeting regarding the trip's departure. After a five-hour trip, take the BP Highway to Ghurmi for lunch. Our adventure becomes more thrilling as we travel down the route as it passes through rivers, rice terraces, beautiful fields, and villages. We travel four hours from Ghurmi to Phaplu (2,485 m), where we turn around and travel three to four hours off-road to Thame Danda. Spend the night in the teahouse. Meal: Breakfast
Day 03: Drive from Salleri to ThamDanda (2326 M) and Trek to Paiya | Altitude: 2730M | Drive: 9-10 Hrs | Trek: 2 Hrs
Our journey today begins at Thame Danda, the final endpoint on the road, and takes us two hours of ascent to reach Paiya. After an hour, the trail descends to the Surke (2,290m). After passing through relics and a century-old Buddhist Chorten, the trail then follows the Dudhkoshi River for nearly an hour to the Chaurikharka (2,422m) below Lukla. You can access the main Everest Base Camp trail at Chheplung after a short trek. You will now notice a large group of hikers arriving from the Lukla airplane. You will reach Phakding, the home of the Sherpa, after another two hours of easy walking through villages, woods, and some long-ass bridges. Spend the night at the Teahouse. Meal: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner
Day 04: Trek from Paiya to Phakding | Altitude: 2620 M | Trek: 5-6 Hrs | Meal: BLD
On our second day of hiking to Everest base camp, we walk through lovely pine trees along the Dudh Koshi River's bank, past the first suspension bridge and numerous small settlements, before arriving in Monju (gateway of Sagarmatha National Park). After a few intervals of waiting, we eventually arrive at the checkpoint, whereupon we proceed to Sagarmatha National Park after completing a few formalities. We continue on our journey by gorgeous forests, historic sites, and numerous small and long suspension bridges across the Dudh Koshi River until arriving in Namche Bazaar after a certain amount of walking (gateway of Everest base camp trekking). Meal: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner
Day 05: Trek to Namche Bazaar | Altitude: 3440 M | Trek: 5-6 Hrs | Meal: BLD
Today is an acclimatization day, so we go on a hiking tour. Trek to Khumjung village and the Everest View Hotel. Visit the Hillary School and nearby monasteries. It's a nice day to eat lunch in Khumjung village, where you can see Mount Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Thamserku, Amadablam, and other peaks in the distance. Return to Namche. Getting more energized while exploring Namche Meal: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner
Day 06: Acclimatization Day
On the fourth day, after a delicious breakfast, we continue our trek along a zigzag path that crosses the valley above the Dudh Koshi River and offers the chance to see wild musk deer, colorful pheasants, the herd of Himalayan Thar, as well as a variety of other flora and fauna. After a few more hours of walking through picturesque villages, terraced fields, and lovely rhododendron and pine forests, we reach Tengboche, arguably the most picturesque location in the Everest region. There, we spend the night at the lodge and explore Tengboche monastery, the biggest monastery in the Khumbu region. Meal: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner
Day 07: Trek from Namche Bazzar to Tengboche | Altitude: 3860 M | Trek: 5-6 Hrs | Meal: BLD
Trek through a rhododendron woodland to the town of Deboche. Arrive at Pangboche village, the largest Sherpa community, after passing via Diboche Valley. Lhotse, Amadablam, and Mount Everest are all still clearly visible. In order to visit the oldest pangboche monastery, a hiking trail passes through upper Pangboche. We can see the quaint village of Dingboche and its lovely potato fields after making a few short ascents. Meal: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner
Day 08: Trek to Dingboche
Although today is the sixth day, which is also separated for acclimatization, we won't do anything. Today, behind the settlement, we move towards the north to gather an incredible view of numerous visible short and tall mountains (Mt. Ama Dablam and Mt. Lhotse especially). You can choose to spend the entire day exploring the valley or you can choose to see the Imja Khola valley, Dingboche's farmland, and pastures. Since we won't advance on the sixth day, we will spend this night at Dingboche. Meal: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner
Day 09: Trek from Dingboche to Lobuche | Altitude: 4,928 m/ 16,164 ft | Trek: 5-6 Hrs
Your body will regain its energy after the last day of acclimatization and rest. Today, we do the five- to six-hour trek from Dingboche to Lobuche above the town of Periche. The trail passes through a meadow area with a few abandoned buildings after ascending the slope above the Dingboche. The Khumbu Glacier sits just in front of Thukla (4,620m), which is where the wonderful three-hour hike ends with lunch. The trail next climbs rapidly for 45 minutes to the Thukla Pass (4,830m), where there are many monuments honoring climbers who perished during the trip and beautiful scenery, particularly views of Mount Ama Dablam. After another two hours of walking around the Khumbu Glacier, you will reach Lobuche, where you can spend the night. Meal: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner
Day 10: Trek from Lobuche to Everest Base Camp and Return to Gorakshep | Altitude: 5,364 m/ 17,575 ft | Trek: 6-7 Hrs
As per usual, after eating a carefully chosen breakfast, we depart Lobuche and continue walking towards Gokarshep where we will have lunch before beginning to climb again with an eye toward Everest base camp. After a short distance, we pass the pyramid sign, from which point you can see the actual, enormous north face of Mount Everest as well as a number of other great mountains. From a short ascent, you are given a truly breathtaking 360-degree perspective of the surrounding lofty, snow-capped mountains. You reach Everest base camp after a long hike through a rocky and glacial terrain that offers breathtaking vistas (aimed destination). After sightseeing and photography, we head back to Gokarshep for the night. Meal: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner
Day 11: Trek from Gorakshep to Kalapathar back to Pheriche | Altitude: 5,550 m/ 18,204 ft | Trek: 5-6 Hrs
You will trek in Kala Patthar (5,550 meters) this morning to see the sunrise over the magnificent mountains of Mt. Everest (8,848.86 meters), Mt. Pumari (7,145 meters), Lingtren (6,695 meters), Khumbutse (6,623 meters), Changtse (7,550 meters), and Nuptse (7879m). This is a bit of heaven if you believe in the spiritual. Although it takes two hours to climb the Kala Patthar, the effort is rewarded with breathtaking views and an experience that will last a lifetime. The best vantage point to see Mount Everest clearly is from here. While taking in the view from the summit of the Kala Patthar, walk to Gorakshep for breakfast before continuing your 4- to 5-hour descent to the Pheriche for an overnight stay. Meal: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner
Day 12: Trek back from Pheriche to Namche
After a hearty breakfast on the tenth day, we follow the same path we had previously discovered into the village of Pangboche before turning around and returning via Imja Khola, lovely forests, countless bridges, and numerous settlements to reach Tengboche. On this tenth night, we will spend the evening at Namche Bazaar taking in Sherpa cultural dances and cuisine while extending our stroll and passing praying stones and miniature walls. Meal: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner
Day 13: Namche to Chaurikharka
It takes 6 to 7 hours to walk from here to Chaurikharka. The majority of the trail descends alongside the Dudhkoshi River through jungle and Sherpa communities. Observe the surrounding area and mountain vistas once more as you travel back to Chaurikharka (2,694m). From the polar opposite directions, you see things differently. After entering the teahouse, it takes 20 minutes to walk to Lukla if you're interested in visiting the world's most thrilling airport. At the tea house, we are spending the night. Meal: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner
Day 14: Chaurikharka to Thamdanda and Drive to Salleri
The descent to Thamdanda is simple. We bid our porter farewell and depart on a three-hour drive in a local vehicle with a guide. Another convenient location to spend the night is the neighborhood tea house in Thamdanda. Meal: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner
Day 15: Drive Back from Salleri to Kathmandu
Return today by Jeep to Kathmandu. Driving back takes between 10 and 11 hours, with numerous stops along the way. Arrive in Kathmandu and proceed to the hotel to spend the night. Meal: Breakfast
Day 16: Departure Day

We had to take the road to get to the Everest Base Camp as the flight was canceled due to bad Weather. We were so sad but the reality was the opposite, the route was long and rough with beautiful settlements and landscapes. It took us 3 days to reach Lukla and join the other trekkers who had flown from Kathmandu.

I recently completed a trekking trip in Nepal with Alpha Adventure Treks.
I visited the Everest region (Gokyo Lake and Renjo La Pass); they have a great guide and a great porter; I enjoy their employees (they are extremely friendly and smiling during the trip); their service is excellent, and the guide provides us with a wealth of information about Nepal and the surrounding area. Personally, I'm overjoyed that I chose this trekking company for my Nepal vacation.

From Lukla to Everest Base Camp and back, I enjoyed the most incredible 8-day hike. The use of a guide was extremely educational and beneficial. I also hired a porter because the return trip is almost 100 kilometers at altitude, which is exhausting even if you are in good shape. Hiking in the Himalayas is both beautiful and fulfilling, and I would strongly advise it to anyone, regardless of age or physical ability. I'd do it all over again in a heartbeat and can't wait to return.

Our guided private trek was excellent. His English is great, and he is both friendly and humorous. We are both slow walkers, and he was extremely patient with us. We see him as a buddy after 12 days together. The journey is fantastic: the walking is strenuous, but you can order food from a vast menu and sleep in a luxurious bed every evening. This is a trek that I would strongly suggest to everyone.

I've just returned from a terrific helicopter tour to Everest base camp. It was a fantastic adventure. Because a private excursion was out of my budget, I scheduled a group joining helicopter tour. I appreciated the companionship of the other flying passengers. While waiting for the aircraft, we had a great time chatting and sharing a delicious breakfast at Hotel Everest View.

Joey, our Kathmandu contact, was wonderful from our home in Australia!
He was always willing to assist us with our (many) queries throughout the road. We couldn't be happier with everything that was provided, from the accommodations and schedule to connecting us with a city tour and our incredible trekking guide.

In April of this year, I traveled to EBC with a buddy, and we used Alpha Adventure as our travel agent and guide. They were extremely attentive to our requirements and were able to accommodate our last-minute alterations and demands. I had a fantastic time on the trip, and I want to express my gratitude to our guide for accommodating all of our requests. Excellent service!

We just returned from the Everest Panorama Trek with Alpha Adventure Team, and it was one of the most unforgettable experiences of our lives. From the minute we landed in Kathmandu until we were transported back to the airport, Puru coordinated the entire trip for us, and we were thoroughly taken care of and treated like royalty. The entire vacation went off without a hitch, and we can't think of anything that could have been done better.

Late April 2019, I went on a 24-day trip with Alpha Adventure to Everest Base Camp via Gokyori and Chola Pass. It was one of the most well-organized treks I've ever experienced. There were no internal planes available from Kathmandu, therefore a last-minute arrangement was devised. Because I was the only one in the group, the guides went out of their way to make me feel at ease. I always had a room to myself because there was no one else in the group of the same gender to share one with. It was a fantastic trip, and even though it has been over a month since I returned, the memories still bring a smile to my face.

Alpha Adventure Treks took me to Everest Base Camp; we were a group of seven, and the trip was a complete success. They provided us with an unforgettable experience and attended to all of our needs. Our safety was their top focus, and they made sure we were always at ease.
I would use Alpha Adventure Excursions for future treks without hesitation.
