A recently discovered peak in Nepal, Saribung Peak Climbing 2022–2023, marks the beginning of the Mustang Saribung Pass Expedition 2022. A fundamental understanding of mountaineering methods is necessary to climb Saribung Peak. Additionally, it's necessary to be in excellent physical shape and have prior trekking expertise. You have to walk 6 to 7 hours a day on average in off-trail or difficult terrain, and/or more than 20 kilometers or 1,000 meters of elevation gain.
Saribung Peak climbing will lead you to the region's well-traveled trails and treacherous passes. Throughout your journey, you will encounter rocky pathways and ancient communities. You'll reach a height of 6387 meters on the journey, where you'll see various angles of the enormous mountains covered in snow. Physical exertion is required for this walk because you'll have to ascend steep, snowy slopes and cross the Saribung La Pass, which is located at a height of 5600 meters.

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu
When you arrive at the airport, our employees will meet you and take you to your hotel in a private vehicle while holding a name card with your name on it. Small trip-related gathering in the evening.
Day 02: Drive to Pokhara
Today, we will travel by car the approximately five-hour distance from Kathmandu to Pokhara. We will travel along the banks of the Trishuli River and over the picturesque Prithivi Highway, which features winding, hilly lanes. On the banks of Fewa Lake, Pokhara is a lovely town. It is the ideal place to begin our trek because it is less crowded and larger than Kathmandu.

Day 03: Fly to Jomsom and Trek to Kagbeni | Altitude: 2,858m/9,375ft | Trek: 3-4 Hrs
You'll take an early-morning flight from Pokhara to Jomsom. You will have a short hike from Jomsom to Lubra after crossing the Kali Gandaki river on pathways. After seeing the Bon Po Monastery in Lubra, you can continue your hike to Eklebhatti. From Eklebhatti, it will take you around an hour to walk to Kagbeni. You can tour the red-painted Gompa at Kagbeni, which is thought to have been around for about 1000 years. Kagbeni will be your home for the night.

Day 04: Trek from Kagbeni to Chele | Altitude: 3050m/10,004ft | Trek: 5-6 Hrs
Our tour begins with a specific permission check-up before continuing to the Kaligandaki riverside upstream. We can halt at beautiful locations during the stroll along the winding, sandy trails. This path goes uphill and downhill. First, we arrive in Tangbe village, a place of whitewashed buildings, buckwheat, barley, and wheat fields, as well as apple orchards. From there, we continue our ascent to Chhusang and cross the river before ascending to the enormous red conglomerate that has fallen from the cliff above and created the tunnel that the Kaligandaki follows. We continue moving on till we arrive at Chele village.

Day 05: Trek from Chele to Ghilling | Altitude: 3,624m/11,923 ft | Trek: 6-7 Hrs
We will depart Chele after breakfast and take the trail that leads to a little grassy basin. From here, we will climb to the 3735-meter-high Dajori La Pass and then descend to the charming village of Samar. From Samar, our track quickly falls through a highly degraded riverbed before beginning a difficult ascent to the 3838-meter-high Bhena La Pass. Before beginning the ascent to Yamda La Pass at 3860 meters, we will briefly descend. From here, we will get great views of the Upper Mustang's lovely valleys. We will arrive at a sizable stupa at Chhungar after a little descent and then an uphill hike. In order to go to the flat-bottomed valley and the village of Ghilling, we turn right at the cairn and proceed downward from here.

Day 06: Trek from Ghilling to Tsarang | Altitude: 3500m/11,480ft | Trek: 4-5 Hrs
You will pass Zaite Village as you reach Mustang's downtown on this particular day. You will also descend on a steep trail to Ghami village after passing via the 4020-meter-high Nyi La Pass. The longest Mani Wall in the Mustang region is located when you stroll along little Khola's edge. You will advance over a protracted, steep hill that leads to a narrow pass before descending toward Tsarang Village. Around the settlement, you will find many Chortens, ancient Palaces, and Gompas. Stay the night at Tsarang.

Day 07: Trek from Tsarang to Lo Mangthang | Altitude: 3700m/12,136ft | Trek: 5-6 Hrs
With a stunning view of the Nilgiri, Tilicho, Annapurna I, and Bhrikuti mountain, we trek to Lo-Mangthang today. After crossing the river, the trail first drops to Charang Chu Canyon before beginning a difficult ascent. The trail continues to gently ascent to the windswept Lo Pass at 3,850 meters, where you can glimpse the Lo-Mangthang Valley. Views of the walled city on the Tibetan Border with its hills look lovely as you descend to Lo-Mangthang. For the duration of the stop, we stay in a hotel.

Day 08: Acclimatization Day
Acclimatization is essential for preventing both physical and mental sickness. For a great day of acclimatization, Lo-Manthang offers a variety of hikes. For acclimatization, you can climb up to Namgyal Monastery in two to three hours. In addition, Lo Manthang is a fascinating town with three important gompas to see. Over the past 20 years, Jhampa, Thupchen, and Chhoeda gompas have all received excellent restoration. Discover the distinctive culture and traditions of this city, which serves as the Forbidden Kingdom of Mustang's capital.

Day 09: Trek from Lo Mangthang to Yara | Altitude: 3650m/11972ft | Trek: 6-7 Hrs
You will travel from Lo Manthang to Dhi Village on this day, which will take you around 4 hours. To get to Yara Village, you must descend to a little brook and then ascend. To get to the settlement of Yara, you must pass via many stone walls and cave monasteries and cross a suspension bridge. The next day at Yara.

We leave the Yara and trek briefly to the Luri Gompa before finding the road that leads to several stunning, historic monasteries. At the start of the journey, at 4500 meters, we are going to the Luri Cave Monastery, which was established in the 15th century and is well-known. Then, we can see a variety of Deity and Protector statues and images. Later, we go to the magnificent and historic Luri cave monastery, which is the other monastery. After that, we spend the night at the Luri.

Day 11: Trek from Luri Gompa to Ghuma Tanthi | Altitude: 4600m/15088ft | Trek: 5-6 Hrs
We leave the Luri Cave Monastery and combine the Yara-GhumaThanti Trail as we descend to the gorge. The trek from the hilltop through the pastures is fantastic. The trekking is made even more amazing by the magnificent view of Mount Dhaulagiri. After that, we continue to descend till we get to GhumaThanti and the holy Damodar Kunda Lakes, which serve as a refuge for Buddhist pilgrims. The Ghuma Thanti is where we spend the night.

Day 12: Trek from Ghuma Tanthi to Namta Khola | Altitude: 4890m/16039ft | Trek: 7-8 Hrs
We will begin a difficult ascent after leaving Ghuma Tanthi in order to reach a pass at 5320 meters. We will enjoy breathtaking views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri mountain ranges from the summit of the pass. Then, after descending to the base of Parche Khola, we ascend once more to a pass at 5480 meters. Our route takes us to the holy and pure lakes close to Damodar Himal. An ancient Buddhist Chorten and a Hindu shrine can also be found nearby. We'll keep walking until we reach Namta Khola, where we'll spend the night.

Day 13: Trek from Namta Khola to Saribung Base Camp | Altitude: 4950m/16236ft | Trek: 6-7 Hrs
As we leave Namta Khola, we will progressively climb to higher elevations. Until we reach Saribung Base Camp, our trek follows the alpine vegetation and passes across terrain that resembles the Tibetan Plateau. We will swiftly up our tents at base camp after arriving and conduct any necessary medical and climbing equipment inspections.

Day 14: Acclimatization Day
You'll need to hike up to a greater altitude after this day. So, today is for acclimatization. You can unwind or go on a brief hike to discover the Saribung Base Camp's surrounding hills and stunning scenery. You can get ready for the approaching excursion on the acclimatization day.

Day 15: Saribung Base Camp to High Camp | Altitude: 5,730m | Trek: 5-6 Hrs
You will eat breakfast early on this day before beginning your trip to High Camp. On this day, you will have to navigate snow and rocks. It could be difficult to walk along the icy, snowy trails. Views of several mountains, including Khumjunggar Himal and Damodar Himal, will be all around you. Before getting to Camp I, you will have a brief lunch break. You will spend the night in High Camp I after arriving there.

Day 16: Summit Saribung Peak and Back to Base Camp | Altitude: 6328m/20755ft | Trek: 7-8 Hrs
You will ascend Saribung Peak today, the culmination and highest point of your journey. You will ascend Saribung Peak early in the morning by way of a difficult path. When you reach the peak's summit, it will provide you with stunning views of the surrounding peaks. From the top of Saribung Peak, you can see Chhib Himal, Kharsang Peak, and other mountains. You will descend into Saribung Base Camp after taking in the stunning mountain views and spend the night there.

Day 17: Trek back from Base Camp to Nogoru | Altitude: 4400m/14436ft. | Trek: 4-5 Hrs
The morning hike first takes us over the Saribung Pass, after which the icy track rapidly drops till it reaches a little brook. Next, we reach Nagoru along the trail that crosses the stream.

Day 18: Trek from Nogoru to Phu Gaon | Altitude: 4080m/13385ft | Trek: 5-6 Hrs
Our trail leaves Nagoru and travels through a number of small towns primarily populated by the Lama, Gurung, and Ghale ethnic groups. We will get amazing views of the surrounding high peaks and valleys while on the trek. One of the most unusual and obscure valleys will be reached by us. As we move closer to Phu village, we will have the chance to see the cultural and environmental diversity of nearby settlements. The Phu stone village could be 800 years old, according to estimates. Walking through Phu village's narrow alleyways in the dusk will make you feel as though you've traveled back in time. There is a very old and well-known monastery called Tashi Lakhang Monastery in Phu, which is thought to be one of the final monasteries Karmapa Rinpoche established.

Day 19: Trek from Phu Gaon to Meta | Altitude: 3560m/11,680ft | Trek: 4-5 Hrs
This portion of the ascent initially lowers at Kyang while traversing a small valley on the path. Kyang offers us places to visit, such as the abandoned forts of the Khampa village. Such locations include Jhunam, Chyakhu, and Kyang, where Khampa refugees from Tibet were formerly caught and illegally resided. As we go through these locations, we eventually arrive at Meta. The trip will be accompanied by a breathtaking view of Lamjung Himal and Annapurna II.

Day 20: Trek from Meta to Koto | Altitude: 2610m/8,563ft | Trek: 4-5 Hrs
On this day, you must traverse arduous descending terrain in order to reach Koto. Along the routes, you will pass by little streams and pine trees while walking. Before you reach Koto, you will pass through a lot of suspension bridges. You will arrive at Koto after walking for six to seven hours. sleeping at Koto.

Day 21: Trek from Koto to Dharapani| Altitude: 1860m/6100ft | Drive: 5-6 Hrs
The initial stage of today's journey travels via minor towns before arriving at Timang in the midst of a pine forest. As the walk continues, a fleeting view of Mount Manaslu and other snow-capped peaks will be visible. The trail then descends sharply to Danque, where we continue on a flat path until we reach Dharapani.

We'll drive back to Kathmandu from Dharapani after breakfast. Our drive is a beautiful trip that crosses zigzagging hills, passes through terraced agriculture, lush forest, and offers good views of the Annapurna, Manaslu, and Ganesh Himal mountain ranges. Before returning to Kathmandu, we go via a number of villages and towns, where we may observe locals going about their everyday lives.
