The first day of this once-in-a-lifetime adventure begins with an opportunity to visit the unique metropolis of Kathmandu before traveling into the alpine hamlet of Lukla (9350 feet).

As we enter the famous Everest region of the Nepal Himalayas, the trek begins in Lukla. From here, the trip follows ancient trade routes that wind their way through rural valleys, little settlements, high mountain passes, and past lonely monasteries. As the trail continues, it follows the Dudhkoshi River and eventually leads to Namche Bazaar, the famous Sherpa settlement where you will be trekking around Sagarmatha National Park. The vistas from Namche are endless, with the peaks gleaming with a brilliance all around you. Namche Bazaar, also known as the Everest Gateway, provides access to a variety of hiking opportunities in the Everest region.
